Solve your “hairy” problems! The SKINNER electrostatically charges flock fibres, fires them at an object to be flocked and, according to the utilized flock, creates a long- or short-haired, a soft or bristly surface. The possible applications are almost unlimited, e.g., for designing masks, body parts, coulisse elements, props, etc.
The application could not be easier: First apply adhesive to the surface to be treated. For this purpose propMask Special Adhesive or ProsAide would be an appropriate choice. Not only prosthetics but also body parts can be flocked directly! Various types of adhesive are available for the different surfaces to be flocked in order to create a reliable adhesion of the flock fibres to the substrate. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information!
Place flocking material into the applicator of the SKINNER and hold down the applicator pointing at the surface approx. 15 cm above work area. A wire connects the SKINNER to the workpiece covered with adhesive and creates a static field. At the push of a button, within the SKINNER the flocking material is charged electrostatically at a voltage of 70 kV and therefore attracted by the adhesive at high speed. The flock fibres penetrate into the adhesive vertically.
First the long hair has to be applied. The maximum length of the flock fibres is 12 mm. Subsequently the bottom hair is built up with short and different-coloured flocking material. Various lengths, densities and colours of flock result in innumerable possible designs. The growing direction of the hair can be determined by using a finely dosed air stream from a compressed air pistol, e.g. to simulate hair whorls.
The flock remains toughly attached to the object after curing, resulting in a long-lasting, hard-wearing finish. Absolutely convincing! – A perfect illusion!
